Meet the team
Brittany DeVries
Founder | Producer | Writer Founder and producer at Seedling Media Productions Brittany DeVries produced short documentary QUERIDO PANAMA successfully lobbying for a change in Panamanian adoption and foster care law.
Recognizing the potential for social impact through film Brittany went on to produce award-winning documentaries A WORLD WITHOUT ORPHANS and LOST KITES. She is the associate producer of Golden Globe nominated writer/director, Jayro Bustamante, feature film RITA [Guatemala] and producer of feature film CHACALERIA [Panama] (winner of the 2020 Panama Film Fund) in-theaters April 2024. In-development projects include documentary PAN-AM: THE UNTOLD STORY OF CIRILO MCSWEEN (MAUCC 2023 Co-Production Market Selection) a film produced with JOCMedia + Entertainment, LLC and Panamanian Mariel Garcia Spooner attached to direct, feature films ARCHIVO PENDIENTE (Stowe Story Labs Selection), biopic SCARS OF AN ORPHAN [Ukraine] and HOGAR [Panama] a scripted series. Carina Weber
Project Manager | Assistant Producer Carina Weber studied International Office Management, Presentation Coaching and Languages at the Heidelberg International Business Academy, Germany and is fluent in English, Spanish and German. She has over 10 years of experience in the Panama Theatre Scene and participated as Assistant Artistic Director in the productions of Macbeth Opera and Panama The Musical where she worked alongside internationally renowned Opera Director Daniel Helfgot and Music Director David Warrack. Carina worked as a Judge and Performance Coach at the Drama Festival of the Association of American Schools of Central America (AASCA) and is the co-creator of the 4in48 Theater Festival. In Film/TV she appeared in US Travel Channel Legendary Locations and numerous local shorts filmed in Panama. She is an actress and director at heart and an aspiring writer.

Synopsis: QUERIDO PANAMÁ, or DEAR PANAMA, is a response to the 2400 children living in 34 institutions throughout Panama. A talented group of photojournalists and film students have pledged to advocate for "every child's right to a family". We believe that this is possible either with legislative reform, reunification of families, and through the promotion of foster care and adoption.
*Our definition of "family" includes birth family, foster families and adoptive families. We defend children's rights to a family.

Respect, always.” However, the first night Mig is attacked by a group of boys led by 17-year-old Reyes. Physical violence becomes the least of Mig’s problems when Rolon, rapes Mig in the shower room. Befriending 16-year-old Isla, Mig learns her secret and devises a plan of escape - to reunite Isla with her baby son and gain freedom from Ciudad Cariño. PAN-AM spotlights the journey of Cirilo McSween from being an
impoverished migrant from Panama, the obstacles he faced amid the racial
segregation of the Jim Crow era, becoming the first Black insurance agent for
New York Life Insurance, his work alongside Dr. Rev. Martin Luther King, Jr.,
and Rev. Jesse Jackson, Sr. in addition to his international affairs efforts
around the Panama Canal, and his eventual success as a McDonald’s
franchisee.
Cirilo’s story inspires and motivates us to be the best version of ourselves.
